About the event
Curious about the evolving landscape of psychedelic research and policy in Texas? Join us for a live watch party of this timely panel discussion as Texas reaches a major turning point with the launch of its $50 million state-funded ibogaine clinical trial program. Texas leadership announced that state-funded research will now proceed through statewide medical institutions after private sector proposals did not meet the specific criteria set by the Legislature. This move marks a historic shift in the state’s approach to medical research, placing Texas at the forefront of evaluating new interventions for treatment-resistant conditions and opioid addiction.
This discussion will feature a deep dive into the practical challenges and long-term implications of a state government managing its own clinical trials and the critical role of leaders in psychedelic advocacy. Our expert panelists will examine the logistical hurdles of state-led drug development, the complexities of navigating federal regulatory frameworks like the FDA and how this initiative could serve as a new model for medical research.
Why attend? Whether you are a healthcare professional, a policy analyst, or a resident interested in the future of medical research, this event provides an inside look at the shifting legal and scientific tides. In addition to the ibogaine developments, we will provide updates on the current status of psychedelic-related research in Texas, and how Texas legislation has impacted legislation in Tennessee and New Mexico. You will leave with a fresh perspective on how regional policy is shaping the national conversation on psychedelic therapies, so you can be a skillful advocate in the Psychedelic Renaissance.
Join us for an insightful and inspiring discussion on the future of psychedelic research and policy!
