Psychedelics 101: A Discussion on Plant Medicine and Psychedelics
Psychedelics are everywhere in the headlines right now — but what's actually true? Join us for a grounded conversation about plant medicine and psychedelics: how they work, what the safety concerns are, and where things stand legally. Come with questions — this is a discussion, not a lecture.
Time & Location
Sep 12, 2026, 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM CDT
EADO/Second Ward, Houston, TX, USA
About the event
Ceejay Blake, LMSW, will lead the group through a basic discussion on where psychedelics currently stand — for therapy, personal growth, and religious use. What are the main categories, and what does each one do? We'll cover the basics of the major psychedelics and related medicines, their legal status, and how they're being talked about socially. We'll also touch on the FDA approvals still pending — and open up the question of whether they'll move forward given the current political climate. About the Presenter: Ceejay Blake, LMSW, is a licensed ketamine therapist, harm-reduction advocate, and longtime Harley rider dedicated to building an equitable psychedelic landscape in Texas. As the founder of Meroë Moto, a Houston-based collective that brings trauma-informed mental health care to the road, they fuse somatics, embodiment, and rider culture with community activism and queer-affirming care. Ceejay’s work centers marginalized communities and bridges therapy with movement, justice, and education — empowering everyday people to step into psychedelic healing, advocacy, and collective liberation. meroemoto.com
