About the event
Psilocybin at the State Line: Proximity, Possibility & the Texas Response
As of 2025, New Mexicos Governor signed into law a medical psilocybin bill that would allow for the states department of health to build out regulation for the growth, processing, testing, distribution, and administration of psilocybin mushrooms in a therapeutic model. Effectively making New Mexico the third state to legalize psilocybin, this talk explores the emergence and current status of this program as well as its future impact on Texans as patients, and players of this program. I will first discuss how the community of New Mexico gathered to get this bill on the governors desk, then leading into what the bill encompasses, and how where the state is at with the implementation of the program. As we get a better understanding of what is going on in New Mexico, I will finish with how this can and will impact Texans as well as the nation at large. I will finish the session urging how one can get involved in the program and take questions from the audience.
