ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Dr. Jasdeep Sandhu is a board-certified psychiatrist who practices integrative psychiatry. Believing that we each create the medicine we need, she approaches mental health treatment with awareness of the many factors influencing wellbeing. She attended the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio for medical school, and decided on psychiatry as a specialty as she knew that by addressing behaviors and the mind, impactful health changes would follow. She also completed a Masters of Public Health, further supporting her view that health is heavily influenced by our environment. She completed her residency at the Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai in New York City and also completed a year long psychoanalytic fellowship through the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Though appreciative of her medical training, she's realized there is an intolerable gap between what was taught was therapeutic versus what is sustainable and personalized in a patient's treatment. She works with the principles of meaning, nutrition, movement, restoration, mindfulness, and connection as core principles. She has participated in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy training primarily through Polaris, and continues to explore the field of psychedelics with her training, experiences, and patient care. She also works with a team to bring KAP retreats to patients as a way of integrating personalized and community benefits of medicine work.
David Naylor
A seasoned entrepreneur, David Naylor has founded and operated multiple mental health and recovery centers over the last decade. David's personal journey battling trauma and addiction instilled in him a lifelong passion for mental health and healing. Having overcome mental illness & substance abuse issues himself early on in his adolescence, he's had firsthand experience with the revolving door that 12-step programs and the traditional model of treatment for mental illness and addiction lead to. After trying psychedelic therapy and experiencing breakthrough results in his own life, he realized the power psychedelic-assisted therapy could have when delivered in a safe setting, with the right pre- and post-integration protocols. Believing this therapy could lead to accelerated healing, expansion, and real transformative growth, David opened WITHIN Center in Austin using psychedelic therapy (ketamine) in a ceremonial setting under medical supervision. The center includes a clinic and a retreat center and focuses on comprehensive integration services such as blood work, gut health, fitness, community connection, therapy and coaching.
