About the event
Holding Space for Altered States: A Global Watch Party with Zendo Project & PsyT
The San Antonio Chapter of the Psychedelic Society of Texas is proud to host a unique, synchronized event in collaboration with the Global Psychedelic Society (GPS) and the Zendo Project, a leader in psychedelic peer support education.
This hybrid gathering connects our local San Antonio community to a global livestream presentation led by Zendo Project’s Programs Director, Jessa Hurst. We will explore an essential framework for providing a grounded, supportive presence for others, followed by in-person breakout activities designed to ground these concepts in shared community practice.
As interest in the psychedelic ecosystem continues to grow, so does the need for community-led safety and education. This workshop moves beyond theory, focusing on how we can cultivate a culture of care and resilience within our own neighborhoods. By understanding the principles of harm reduction, we can ensure that our community remains a resourced and informed space for everyone.
Participants will be introduced to the four core Principles of Psychedelic Harm Reduction:
Safe Space: Creating a grounded and protective environment.
Sitting, Not Guiding: Understanding the power of presence over intervention.
Through, Not Down: Supporting the natural arc of an individual's experience.
Difficult is Not Necessarily Bad: Finding growth and meaning within challenges.
Following the presentation and a global Q&A, our local chapter leads will facilitate Breakout Connection Activities. These interactive segments will use guided prompts to help participants internalize these principles through group discussion and peer-led exercises.
Come learn from global educators and connect with your local community as we strengthen the web of support that connects us all.
