About the event

About the event:

Scorpions and snakes to help us fight cancer? It isn’t as crazy as it sounds. You’d hardly think of snakes, spiders, toads, and jellyfish as healers but—thanks to science—they could be. It’s true, venom could kill you, but it could potentially save – and transform – your life*. That’s because the various chemical components in venom each have specific effects on the body, with the active components targeting particular molecules. While there are countless possibilities for potential new medicines—such as new painkillers and treatments for diabetes and even cancer—we’re not just talking about future science here. Medicines derived from venoms are already in use, and venoms have been used for years for spiritual connection.  This interactive presentation, led by The Psychonaut Academy of Detroit's  Sincere Seven, will cover the fundamentals of healing with different venoms and animal secretions (snake, frog, toad, scorpion), including the history, applications, and potential benefits. You'll learn about the various types of venoms and their properties and gain an understanding of these powerful alternative healing modalities and the science behind them.

*Please note that no material in this presentation will be intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is for educational purposes ONLY.
