About the event

What is cryotherapy, what are the benefits, and what does it have to do with altered states, the power of the mind, and the psychedelic experience?

In this educational and experiential evening, Grayson Choate of Body Haxx Cryo will discuss cold therapy and its benefits, and how it can be used as potential psychedelic integration tool. Cryotherapy is a treatment in which the body is exposed to extremely cold temperatures for a certain length of time. This is done by using ice packs, ice baths, or cold chambers, or by using liquid nitrogen. The skin temperature is lowered, which causes the skin to send signals to the brain to send blood to the body’s core. This enables the blood to become enriched with oxygen and nutrients which then flow back through the body once it has warmed up. It has been used to treat pain and aid inflammatory conditions, insomnia, and mental health issues.

During the evening, you'll get a chance to try different cold therapies and win some prizes, too! Because of the size of the location and the experiential nature of the event, space is limited, so you must RSVP beforehand and fill out a waiver to attend.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Grayson Choate is the manager of Body Haxx Cryo and also a personal trainer, physical therapist, and nutritionist. He incorporates alternative plant medicines and other holistic forms of therapy into his daily and business life. With the help of various plant medicines, he overcame drug addiction and gained a new perspective on the mind-body connection, which sparked an interest in cryotherapy and other alternative therapies.

You must RSVP in advance as space is very limited. While the event is free, if you feel compelled to make a small contribution to PsyT, you can do so at registration. This allows us to continue to host rad events, pay location fees, and sustain our mission. Thank you!
