About the event
What comes to mind when you think of "addiction recovery?" Many may conjure pictures of a support group filled with people celebrating hours, months, or even years of sobriety--shiny coins, acceptance speeches, or abstinence accolades. There’s nothing wrong with those things – ALL paths to recovery are respected and everyone's journey will differ. But what if this picture could look completely different? What if psychedelics were integrated into one's recovery program? Even Bill Wilson, the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, recognized the benefits of psychedelics. However, when he presented them to A.A., he was almost ostracized by the very fellowship he helped create. Fast forward more than 60 years and the stigma is still very real.
In this talk, Adam Tripp and CJ Syas of Mantra Recovery will discuss how psychedelics could serve as a new standard in addiction treatment. Join us for an evening of storytelling--the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of addiction, recovery, and a candid look inside the drug treatment industry.
