About the event
What happens in the brain during a psychedelic experience—and what can it teach us about healing, memory, and consciousness? Join neuroscientist Dr. Erin Neyhart for a compelling evening exploring the current frontiers of psychedelic science. A postdoctoral researcher at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Neyhart studies how psychedelics affect brain states, cognitive function, and neuromodulation—using rodent models, brain imaging, and AI-based analysis.
We’ll explore how cutting-edge research is shaping our understanding of the mind, from treating mental illness to unlocking the mysteries of consciousness. Whether you’re science-curious or seasoned in psychedelics, this event will expand your perspective.
Presenter Bio
Dr. Erin Neyhart is a postdoctoral associate at Baylor College of Medicine. Her research uses in vivo rodent models, two-photon imaging, pupillometry, and neural network-based modeling to study how neuromodulators affect brain states across health and disease — from typical brain dynamics to early Alzheimer’s pathology and psychedelic-induced states. She earned her PhD in Neuroscience from Baylor College of Medicine, an MA in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, and a BA in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. Erin previously served as Director of PsychedelX with the Intercollegiate Psychedelics Network, a global nonprofit supporting students and early-career professionals in the psychedelic field.
